The code responsible for disabling sandbox dates back to 2002 and does
not include any explanation. Let's try if we still need it.

Replace the antiquated search mechanism for a free DISPLAY with Xvfb's
-displayfd option that makes Xvfb choose one itself and print it to
given fd.

is conditional to USE=test. This fixes 440 MissingTestRestrict

If using GNOME GDM, X is started on DISPLAY :0 but a lock file
/tmp/.X1024-lock is created instead of /tmp/.X0-lock.
virtx() will initially set XDISPLAY to 0 and attempt to start Xvfb on
DISPLAY :0 which fails but DISPLAY :1 (and greater) is not attempted if
a previous emerge left /tmp/.X1-lock behind.

The only adjustment made here is setting BDEPEND instead of DEPEND when

The new API runs all specified arguments to virtx() inside an XFVB,
instead of defining VIRTUALX_COMMAND and running that in virtualmake.
Xemake and Xeconf should be replaced by "virtx emake" and "virtx econf".

In order to have guarantee the same X env, we should always
create a Xvfb session instead of attaching to a running X session.

This commit represents a new era for Gentoo:
Storing the gentoo-x86 tree in Git, as converted from CVS.
This commit is the start of the NEW history.
Any historical data is intended to be grafted onto this point.
Creation process:
1. Take final CVS checkout snapshot
2. Remove ALL ChangeLog* files
3. Transform all Manifests to thin
4. Remove empty Manifests
5. Convert all stale $Header$/$Id$ CVS keywords to non-expanded Git $Id$
5.1. Do not touch files with -kb/-ko keyword flags.
